Changes Afoot
I have been working like a dog. Multiple all-nighters, one after the other with snatches of sleep. The result of this unpaid slavery is that my time as a student is pretty much over. After a decade of studentship in London I'm done.
The funny thing is that I'm not relieved, jumping around with glee. My life has a big hole in it. Very odd. There is also guilt there for not being in front of a laptop or nosing through a journal. Like I'm being too lazy or something.
One of the things I've had to do to make sure that I finished my course was cancel Christmas. I am as bah-humbug as any normal Englishman, but it was still a bit of a wrench. It was made even worse by the fact that my birthday's also in December. So that was an evening off then. Nice, but not exactly wild-and-crazy. I have been a very poor friend to a lot of people in the last 6 months too, so I should meet people, spend time outdoors and so on. Like normal people.
I have really neglected the Web and the blog and my site too. Don't get me wrong- I haven't been bombarded with requests for updates (I am the only person who actually ready this), but it feels like I've been slack. So I have an offering: actually something quite exciting. A Google Maps application, which lets you upload pins which link to external sites. My go at this is here.
It's not quite done and there are a few other bits I'd like to add. For example, is there a way of marking a 'track' on the map? I want to make my travel pictures a bit more logical. The best way to do this would be to have an online 'breadcrumb-trail' of images. I'll email the developer. In the meantime, the icons mean that I either went with my sigother, I went on my own, or it's just a link to a favourite photo (the red pins).
If you like it, drop me an e-mail. Time for me to catch up, so I will be buying gifts in the sale and beginning the grating chipper-ness of Christmas anew!
